Cantilever Rack
Cantilever Racking Systems – Engineered for Space and Efficiency
Most rack options easily accommodate standard-sized unit loads such as a 48″ x 40″ GMA style pallet. However, not all products meet this criteria. A 4’ x 8’ sheet of drywall or a long piece of furniture wouldn’t fit in a bay designed for a standard pallet load.
Enter Cantilever Rack. Cantilever racks are designed for storing heavy or bulky items that cannot be placed on traditional racking or shelving systems. Our solutions are engineered to accommodate long, bulky, or irregularly shaped items with ease. Whether you’re storing timber, piping, tubing, or any oversized items, our cantilever racks are tailored to optimize your space and streamline your operations.
Cantilever Rack Design - Single or Double-Sided
Cantilever racking is available in both Single and Double-Sided configurations. If the system is placed against a wall or other equipment, a single-sided system will suffice. However, if you have access to both sides of the cantilever, a double-sided system will provide twice the storage capacity. It not only offers good value for the equipment but also utilizes less floor space compared to placing two single-sided systems back-to-back.
Cantilever Rack Components
- Bases – A cantilever rack system needs a base to anchor it to the floor and support the tower. The base size depends on arm size and rack capacity. A properly selected base prevents tipping or leaning.
- Columns – Cantilever rack columns mount to the base and hold cantilever arms. Frame columns come in various heights and capacities for different applications and orientations (Single-sided or Double-Sided).
- Arms – Cantilever rack arms support products and come in various styles, capacities, pitches, and accessories.
- Bracing – Cantilever rack bracing stabilizes systems and is sized according to product and application. The width of the x-brace determines the horizontal span between arms - but this span is usually between 48” and 60”.
- Accessories – Customers have the option to customize their cantilever system with a wide range of accessories. These accessories include arm attachments such as U-Brackets and V-Brackets, stopper pins that can be either removable or fixed to prevent products from rolling off the arms, and shelf overlays that provide sturdy support for materials.
